‘Free Money’ is a psychedelic bricolage, mixing excerpts from Terry Southern’s acidic satire ‘The Magic Christian’ with Lionel Bart’s ‘Oliver’, The Beatles’ ‘Abbey Road’, and so much more. Here, as elsewhere, Bennett takes material we think we know inside out, then morphs it into something bright and new.

The flip-side is ‘Eve of Sunshine’: a true epic, which originally appeared in Bennett’s deft and daft AV work ‘Consequences (One Thing Leads To Another)’. Barry Maguire’s ‘Eve of Destruction’ is recombined with all manner of material to create something both dramatic and kitsch. It showcases how People Like Us’s music can be seductive, moving, comforting and hilarious. Often within the same composition.

Transparent 7” high quality stereo lathe cut vinyl with engraved Heavens Lathe logo. 230gsm sleeve. Black inner sleeve with PVC protective sleeve. Includes digital download of the full length tracks.
